From cognac to quince wines, experience the taste of Tovuz
The winery was founded in 1989 and its name comes from its success in exporting its first products to Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. The winery enjoys a favourable location in the western region of Azerbaijan, near the new Silk Road connecting Europe with Asia, in Tovuz, which is one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. German settlers gave fresh impetus to winemaking here in the 19th century, while wines and cognacs produced in Tovuz were well regarded throughout the Soviet Union.
Continuing this heritage, Tovuz-Baltiya currently has a cognac factory producing high-quality beverages aged over 25-50 years which are bottled using French technology and in accordance with European standards. It also has 65 hectares of vineyards, where special varieties such as Rkatsiteli, Gold Riesling, Bayan Shira, Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown, which includes both local varieties and technical grape varieties imported from France. The winery is also known for its pomegranate and quince-based wines which besides offering new and delicious tastes contain medicinal properties that impart a positive effect on cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and other diseases.
The winery’s products have won numerous awards at international competitions and exhibitions and are exported to the likes of Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Norway, Finland, Japan, Latvia, Thailand and Canada.
